Mistral Singles Holidays

Organising holidays exclusively for the single traveller since 1995

More than just a "singles only" resort

This year we are celebrating our 16th year hosting exclusively for the single traveller and, with a 45% repeat rate, we feel that this is the best reasssurance and guarantee of the quality of our services.

Our greatest strengthns are these:

We make everyone feel welcome and provide a personalised service, unlike the many impersonal tour operator holidays.

Mama's, mostly organic, cooking is simply unbeatable and , if you have any doubts, we invite you to our vegetablegarden, which is behind the Mistral.

Our local knowledge and passion for Crete make us stand out from the mass market.

Our exclusive trips, to places far off the tourist track, and mixing with the local people, make the Mistral experience addictive.

Our guarantee to you is, "We do all we say on this web site". We have competitive prices as we are only charging for the real cost of the holiday, there are no 'middle men'.

We look forward to hearing from you

The Island of CRETE

"Crete is the cradle of European civilisation that rests beyond the deep red wine sea" as said by Ulysses.
Lovely beaches, stunning countryside, dramatic scenery, high mountains and a wonderful climate make this a truly beautiful island.
Myths and legends abound on Crete - it is the birthplace of Zeus and home of the legendary Minotaur. It is part of Greece, but with its own unique culture.

Years of occupation by the Romans, Arabs, Venetians, Turks and later by the Germans have left their mark on the island. There are still Venetian boathouses in Chania and many of the houses in the town are built in a Turkish style. Despite the years of occupation the Cretans have maintained an independent spirit and any visitor to Crete is guaranteed a warm welcome by the proud, but friendly and hospitable people.

A paradise for walkers and lovers of nature, Crete abounds with flowers in the spring. It is on the migratory path of many rare birds, and the seas that surround Crete are full of marine life for those interested in diving and snorkelling. For lovers of culture there are museums and world famous archaeological sites, including the palace of King Minos at Knossos, and the ancient ruins at Phaestos. There are tiny churches tucked away with beautiful frescoes, Roman baths, mosaics and tombs, hidden caves and beaches and ancient olive trees. Crete has it all.
