A WEEK OF FUN , LAUGHTER AND DANCE FOR LADS AND LADIES OF ALL AGES!
19 OCTOBER - 26 OCTOBER 2010
A Musical Extravaganza of a Week with Take3 at the Mistral
Take3 are planning to repeat the huge success of their very first Sun, Sea, Song and Salsa week in 2009! By popular request the girls will be offering a mix of musical theatre song & dance and a range of latin dance lessons to get you on your feet on those warm October nights in beautiful Chania. We expect to see a number of old friends joining us (if they haven't become stars in their own right by then!) and we hope that a whole lot of new faces will come along to explore their performing talents. You don't need to have any experience whatsoever - everything is geared towards beginners and the emphasis is on fun and laughter as well as learning a few new skills along the way.
This year Take3 will be offering classes for 3 hours per day (except Sunday) as follows:-
9.30 - 11.00 a.m. Musical Theatre Song& Dance
11.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Latin Dance
Here's what some our guests had to say about it last year:-
"I really cannot put into words how good for me that week was, I am sure that all the good memories will be long lasting. If the fun and laughter the take 3 girls bought along could be bottled and sold you all would be rich beyond your wildest dreams. I really feel energised and inspired now" Stu
I'm having withdrawal symptoms, every time I step in the shower I want to sing razzel dazzell e'm . I may have to go to therapy. Like you I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. You helped to make my holiday great...."
"It was a great week, i really enjoyed it, and you girls were fantastic.
I would certainly do it again, and bring a few bits and bobs! Please give my best wishes to the girls, you all certainly made my holiday".
"It was an absolutely brilliant Songand Dance week - you were all such fun so thank you very much for making it a really memorable week. Haven't laughed so much in years"
"The girls from Take3 put their heart and soul into teaching us. They had quite a challenge of their hands but there was alot of laughter which got us through!"
"What a fantastic Song and Dance week! Had such fun and the Take 3 team were brilliant"
Vassilis and everyone at the Mistral would like to invite you to join them for a very special week in the autumn sunshine of Crete when you are invited to take part in recreating some of the best loved musical moments from popular shows. A team from Scotland's Take3 Theatre School will be here to provide morning sessions to show you some of the famous dance routines from Dirty Dancing, Michael Jackson and some special dance moves to celebrate Abba's songs from the soon to be released film version of Mamma Mia! For those interested in learning a little bit of singing technique Agnes Smith will be on hand to give you some vocal tuition for a sing along to some of those best loved songs. Take3, whose students are regularly in film, TV and advertisements will be giving you the secrets to earning extra money as a part time Film & TV extra.
After a lovely afternoon chilling by the pool or visiting some of Crete's beautiful towns, villages or historic sites join us for dinner when you can enjoy one of Katerina's freshly prepared feasts and a table laden with traditional Greek and Cretan food plus all the wine you can drink.
After dinner there will be more musical fun when the Take3 team will show you how to Salsa, Samba, Tango and Jive the night away and Vassilis will teach you the steps to some traditional Greek dances.
At the end of the week join us all for our PARTY, DANCE & CABARET SHOWCASE NIGHT when we'll all get together to party the night away with all that fancy footwork and music of the week!
This is going to be a fantastic week of fun and laughter and a great way for people of all ages to make new friends, learn some new skills and lift your spirits. Sessions will be tailored to suit people of all ages and abilities so don't worry if you're a complete beginner or just not as agile as you'd like to be - the emphasis is on fun and relaxation. We're looking for a good mix of ladies and gents to come along this week to make it really special so book early.
Don't delay - come to Crete and dance the nights away!
TAKE3 THEATRE SCHOOL TEAM AT THE MISTRAL
Who Are We?
Jacqui Dempster and Arlene Forbes started Take3 Theatre Schools in September 2006 to indulge their interests in the performing arts and to offer quality training in Fife, Scotland. Both partners were involved previously in various forms of amateur dramatics but have now been relegated to backstage while their students take the stage! For this week however, they are both very excited that they will have the opportunity for a change to join in the fun! Take3 Theatre Schools currently run in Fife, Scotland but will soon be expanding into other areas. Currently the school offers its students professional tuition in performing arts with three hours each Saturday studying Acting, Singing and Dancing. In a recent acting competition it was said by the adjudicator that "the future of Scottish theatre was safe in the hands of Take3" when students went through to the finals at Plockton near the Isle of Skye. Students are about to start study for LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) examinations and they were much lauded for their fantastic recent performance of "Guys & Dolls". Many of our students are now appearing in Film, TV and Adverts through our associate Casting Agency, "Live & Loud".

She is a frequent traveller to Crete and her first novel, "Charon's Children" was recently published by Efstathiadis in Athens.
