The hotel caters for solo travellers who don’t want to dine alone in the evenings. It actually provides much more than that with many guests having visited on multiple occasions.

There is no typical guest at the Mistral, more women than men, lots of teachers during school holiday. As you would expect really. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and I never had a problem joining a group in the pool, the bar or elsewhere.

While I generally travel solo, this was my first experience at a hotel designed specifically for solo travelers, and what an amazing experience it was!!! The staff was warm, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and truly accommodating. My room was gorgeous with a great view of the pool and the sea. There were numerous excursions available to satisfy the most adventurous of travelers, and, while I took part in a few, I had a hard time pulling myself away from the pool and the assortment of spa treatments available. The Mistral is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday. As a teacher I have found it to be a great place to unwind after a busy term. You are spoiled with organic Cretan food, grown on site in the hotel garden. The standard of accommodation is amazing and you really feel part of the really lovely Cretan family who run the hotel. There is always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which makes it a great place to make new friends. As a hotel for the single traveller,  if you teach and your partner is unable to take time off work to travel with you, you can have a sociable holiday with people who are also travelling on their own. The Mistral really is a place where you can do as little or as much as you like, whether it be sitting by the pool and soaking up the sun or visiting the local area. Whatever you choose, it is a world away from school life and the perfect environment to switch off and recharge before the new academic year.
